Water Intake Calculator
This calculator provides estimates for educational purposes only and is not medical advice. Individual water needs vary. Consult a healthcare provider if you have kidney conditions or other health concerns that affect fluid intake.
Why hydration matters
Water makes up about 60% of your body weight and is involved in nearly every bodily function — from regulating temperature and transporting nutrients to flushing waste and cushioning joints. Even mild dehydration (1-2% of body weight) can impair concentration, mood, and physical performance.
How this calculator works
We use a baseline of 35ml of water per kilogram of body weight, then adjust for your activity level (exercise increases water loss through sweat) and climate (hot environments increase perspiration). The result is your estimated total daily fluid intake from all sources — water, beverages, and food.
Tips to stay hydrated
- Drink a glass of water first thing in the morning
- Keep a water bottle with you throughout the day
- Drink before, during, and after exercise
- Eat water-rich foods: cucumbers, watermelon, oranges, lettuce
- Check your urine color — pale yellow means well-hydrated
