CalorieJoy ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website caloriejoy.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you visit our website.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. If you contact us, we collect the information you include in your message.
Tools, Newsletters, the МійКрок Programme, «Твій план» and Coaching
Some of our tools ask for more than a visit does:
- Materials in exchange for an email. When you request a meal plan PDF, a guide or a newsletter, we store your email address, the page you left it on and the site language, and we pass that address to SendPulse, the service that delivers our emails. Every email carries an unsubscribe link.
- The МійКрок programme. When you join, we store your email address, your age and your answers to a short health screening: pregnancy, breastfeeding, eating disorder history, diabetes, kidney, heart and liver conditions, bariatric surgery. During the programme we store the food diary you write on the site or send to our Telegram bot, your weekly answers, your answers to the bot's evening questions and food questions, your sex, height and activity level if you give them, and, if you connect the bot, your Telegram chat id. If you send the bot your weight or your waist, hip and chest measurements, we store them by date. On day three the bot may ask for the date of your last period and the length of your cycle. You can skip that question. If you answer, we use it for one thing only: to keep the programme from reading a normal pre-period weight swing as a real change. The health answers decide one thing: whether the programme may compute a calorie target for you. Your diary and screening are encrypted in our database. They are read by the author of this site, and only when he reviews your fortnight.
- «Твій план», the personal meal plan. When you order a personal plan, we store your email address, your age, sex, height, weight and activity level, the same health screening as the programme, and your answers about your food, your schedule, your kitchen and your budget. If you give us a phone number, we use it only to reach you in Telegram or Viber about your plan. We keep a journal of the order: the day we wrote, your yes or no, and the sentence you leave if you decline. Your health answers and your food answers are encrypted in our database.
- Coaching. The coaching intake and the discovery questionnaire ask the same health questions plus your weight history and the story behind it. A phone number is optional. If we work together, we keep a journal of the work: your weekly check-ins, our findings and decisions. Coaching runs in a private Telegram group with a second bot of ours in it, and every message in that group, yours and ours, including photos, voice messages and files, is saved to that journal automatically, so that nothing you told us is lost between weeks. The journal is read by the author only.
Health information is sensitive data. We ask for it only where it protects you from a number that could harm you, we ask you to confirm you have read this policy before you submit it, and we never use it for advertising or pass it to anyone.
Automatically Collected Information
We automatically collect certain information when you visit our website, including:
- IP address and approximate location
- Browser type and operating system
- Pages visited and time spent on each page
- Referring website or link that brought you to us
Calculators and the Meal Plan Generator
When you use a calculator or the meal plan generator, we record what you entered (age, sex, height, weight, goal) and the result, together with your country, device type and the page you came from. This record carries no name, email or IP address and cannot be linked back to you. We use it to see which tools are used and where they fail. If one of our calculators is embedded on another website, we record that website's address.
Cookies and Browser Storage
We use cookies and similar technologies to:
- Remember your preferences (such as dark mode)
- Keep your saved meal plan on your device: the «My plan» page stores the plan's key and an offline copy of the plan in your browser, and can be installed as an app
- Understand how you use our website
- Improve our services
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may limit some website functionality.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain our website and services
- Improve and personalize your experience
- Respond to your inquiries and support requests
- Send occasional updates or newsletters (only with your consent)
- Analyze website traffic and usage patterns
- Protect against fraud and abuse
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with our website. Google Analytics collects information anonymously and reports website trends without identifying individual visitors. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Third-Party Services
We rely on a small number of service providers to run the site, and each of them processes only what its job needs:
- DigitalOcean hosts our server and database (United States).
- Cloudflare delivers the site and protects it from abuse.
- SendPulse sends our emails and stores the subscriber list.
- Telegram carries the messages of the programme bot and the coaching bot; what you write to a bot or in a coaching group passes through Telegram under its own privacy policy.
- monobank receives your payment for «Твій план»; the email address you put in the transfer comment is seen by the bank.
- Ko-fi handles donations and the purchase of our guides under its own terms; from it we receive the name and email address you gave there.
- Google Analytics, described above.
If you are in Ukraine or the EU, this means your data is stored on servers in the United States. Each provider has its own privacy policy and is bound to process our data only on our instructions.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information only in the following circumstances:
- With service providers who assist in operating our website
- When required by law or to protect our rights
- With your explicit consent
Data Security
Health answers, programme diaries and plan answers are encrypted in our database, so a copy of the database alone does not reveal them. We implement reasonable security measures to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
How Long We Keep Your Data
- Programme diaries, health answers, cycle data, weekly and evening answers, surveys and food answers are deleted automatically six months after your fortnight ends. If you are still sending the bot your weekly weight at that point, we keep your address, your Telegram link and your weight history so that the weekly conversation can go on. Write «досить» to the bot or email us, and that goes too.
- A «Твій план» order, its answers and its journal are deleted six months after the order is complete. A request that was started and never finished is deleted after thirty days.
- Coaching intakes, check-ins and the journal, including any files from the Telegram group, are kept while we work together and deleted on your request.
- Email subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe; an unsubscribed address is kept only so that we do not email it again.
- Anonymous calculator usage statistics contain no email or name and are kept indefinitely.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Opt out of marketing communications
- Have your programme diary, health answers or plan order deleted before the six months are up

Children's Privacy
Our website is not directed to children under 13, and the МійКрок programme, «Твій план» and coaching are for adults only: a signup under 18 is refused and nothing is stored. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
