These protein energy balls are 110 calories each with 5g of protein — and they take less time to make than it takes to preheat an oven. Five ingredients, no baking, no blender. Just mix, roll, chill.

The combination of peanut butter and chocolate protein powder tastes like a Reese's cup that accidentally became healthy. The oats give them structure and fiber, the honey binds everything together, and the pinch of salt is non-negotiable — it makes the chocolate and peanut flavors pop.

At 110 calories per ball, these fit any calorie deficit. Keep a batch in the fridge for the 3 PM craving that usually ends with you eating something you didn't plan. Two balls (220 cal, 10g protein) hold you until dinner. Use our calorie calculator to see how they fit your daily target.

Ingredients

  • Peanut butter — 65g (2 heaping tbsp)
  • Instant oats — 40g (1/2 cup)
  • Chocolate whey protein — 15g (half scoop)
  • Honey — 1 tbsp (21g)
  • Salt — a small pinch

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Mix wet ingredients

Combine peanut butter and honey in a small bowl. If the peanut butter is cold and too thick, microwave for 10–15 seconds until it softens.

  2. Step 2: Add dry ingredients

Add the chocolate protein powder, oats, and a pinch of salt. Stir until everything comes together into a thick, slightly sticky dough.

  3. Step 3: Check consistency

The dough should hold together when pressed. If it crumbles, add half a tablespoon of milk or water. If it's too sticky, add another tablespoon of oats.

  4. Step 4: Roll into balls

Wet your hands slightly to prevent sticking. Divide the dough into 6 equal portions and roll each into a ball.

  5. Step 5: Chill

Place on a plate and refrigerate for 20–30 minutes. The oats absorb moisture and the balls firm up. Store in the fridge for up to 5 days.
